About Us
Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo (BT-SLO) is dedicated to producing outstanding, professional dance performances. Their productions involve classical ballet and contemporary dance forms and strive to connect with audiences through memorable storytelling.
History
Theresa Slobodnik founded Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo in 2006 after 10 years in the Gilbert Reed Ballet as one of the principal dancers and Assistant Director.
Their first full program featured the works of Gilbert Reed, Ms. Slobodnik’s long time mentor, friend, and former director. Ms. Slobodnik is BT-SLO's artistic director, choreographer and visionary force.
Community Involvement
In April 2012 BT-SLO premiered Undine to nearly 1,100 school children in an electric and captivating performance – made possible through our collaboration with YOPAC and the Foundation for the Performrning Arts Center.
