This brand new ballet is based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen and set to a compiled score of wonderful music by Julius Rontgen.

The cherished friendship of young Kay and little Gerda falls victim to an evil Hobgoblin's cruel prank. The cold-hearted Snow Queen preys on the trouble and takes Kay for herself. Gerda’s search for Kay takes her on a fantastic, dangerous journey into the cold north where only love and faith can triumph. Theresa Slobodnik's The Snow Queen will be set in Scandinavia of the late 1700s in eleven magical settings, with over ninety exquisitely costumed characters. Kay’s travels take her from a rooftop rose garden, through a river, mountains and into the cold of Lapland and Finnmark, in forests and castles, encountering magical creatures and dangerous and mysterious people.

Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen will leap off its pages, onto the stage, and into your heart.  Wonderful holiday entertainment for the whole family!
