Facility Information and Guidelines

​Parking: We have plenty of parking in front of our studio and the nearby lots

Please do your part to keep the studio clean. Keep personal belongings put away in cubbies and rubbish in their appropriate cans.

Child and Youth Dancer Pick-Up and Drop-Off

  • Please arrive no earlier than 5-15 minutes before the start of a class. If you arrive earlier, please remain in your car

  • Dancers should arrive fully dressed with hair done and ready for class as much as possible

  • Parents/guardians should arrive promptly 5-10 minutes prior to the pick-up time of their young dancers. Please stay in your cars or outside while waiting for your dancers to avoid class distractions.

Restrooms:

  • They are located outside the BT‐SLO studio in the breezeway of our building and shared with the other building tenants

  • Keys are located at the front desk   

  • Restrooms do not have shower facilities

 

Safety:

  • Dancers should wait inside the BT‐SLO studio to be picked up from class or rehearsal

  • When leaving the studio or going to the restroom, dancers should inform the person at the front desk

  • Dancers should not wander around the outside areas of the BT‐SLO building

Storage:

  • Cubbies (without locks or doors) are available for dance bags, outside shoes, and other items

  • BT‐SLO is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced property. We recommend leaving valuables at home. 

 

Snacks and Food: 

  • No peanuts or food/snacks containing peanuts. There are dancers at BT‐SLO with SEVERE peanut allergies

  • Food is not allowed on the dance floor area

  • Dancers may bring a snack to have between multiple classes or on long rehearsal days​

 

Water:

  • Dancers should bring their own water bottles

  • Please no glass containers; they can be broken and represent a safety hazard

  • If you forget your water, ask the staff for a $1 bottle (venmo @bt-slo)

Our Black Box Theatre

Our studio can transform into our very own Black Box Theatre! It is outfitted with lights, a full sound system, curtains, and drop-down wings. We host special performances in our space throughout the year including student showcases.

Health & Safety Protocols

Masks: 

  • Masks are recommended for all activities at BT-SLO. You may choose to wear a mask if you like. You may also choose not to wear one.

  • The BT-SLO team continues to monitor local conditions. We may email you if we make temporary changes to our protocols to comply with local regulations or as added protection for our dancers during critical times.

If you are sick - please stay home!

Dancers, guardians, and teachers are required to stay at home if they are feeling sick or under the weather, have a fever, shortness of breath, cough, or have been around anyone testing positive for COVID-19.

Cleaning & Disinfecting:

  • Common areas and commonly shared surfaces will be cleaned regularly

  • More extensive cleaning will be done during “closed” hours

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be located in the lobby area and the dance studio
